“America’s Biggest. America’s Best”, Water World is the Denver area’s premier water park. It’s located about 10 miles north of downtown in Federal Heights.
The park opened in 1979 and is usually open from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day. Travel Channel has ranked Water World in the Top 10 Water Parks in the U.S.
Water Park Attractions
There are over 44 attractions at Water World. They range from thrill rides to family rides to kids rides. The park has a selection of water slides, two wave pools, a “lazy river”, raft rides, and a water-themed fun house.
One of the most popular attractions is “Voyage to the Center of the Earth”. It’s a raft water slide that takes you into a dark cavern for most of the ride. Inside the cave are prehistoric creatures, spirals, drop-offs, and adventure around every hidden corner.
Dining – Water World has numerous restaurants and dining options. You can bring your own food and eat throughout the park. There are several picnic pavilions set up just for this.
Shopping – For shopping, the Lighthouse Surf Shop and the Surf Shack offer everything for fun in the sun: swimsuits, sunscreen, sunglasses, sandals, and plenty of souvenirs.
Lockers are available for rent for a nominal fee. You can also reserve a cabana for the day. Parking is free.
