Clifton is a community tucked between Grand Junction and Palisade, so much it’s considered part of the Grand Junction Metropolitan Statistical Area. It’s a census-designated place (CDP) with a population of 19,889 in 2010.
Situated in Mesa County, Clifton was named for the iconic mesa cliffs close to town. Established in 1900, the Clifton Post Office is still in operation with a zip code of 81520.
