In our society, the word awesome is grossly overused, but if you travel this Route 160, the scenery is awesome. Truly and unequivocally awesome. Seriously, it gave me goose bumps. Littleton is a cool town. I like that it’s west of I-25 and close to the foothills, makes heading up Highway 285 access a breeze.

My Mother and I are renting a car in El Paso Texas and driving to Colorado Springs, Boulder, and Denver, Colorado October 31 thru November 7 with a stop over in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
Are there many mountain passes that I will need to go through?
If it is not safe to drive, then we will plan to fly.

I love the drive to Cripple Creek from Colorado Springs. You go though Woodland Park to the sign that says “Cripple Creek” this way. You make a left. I’d use your “maps” app on your phone.
