June Colorado Events

With summer officially beginning Monday, June 21st, this popular month is full of warm weather celebrations. It’s a fantastic time to plan a trip! Welcome the warmer months with music festivals, wine tastings, and art showings. Sonic Bloom, the Food & Wine Classic in Aspen, and GoPro Mountain Games are just a handful of the exciting events on this month’s lineup.

2023 Annual June Festivals in Colorado

Mind Blown Telluride

• Date: Fri-Sat, December – March & June – September 2023
• Address: Telluride
• About: Taking place at The Peaks Resort & Spa, Ty Gallenbeck puts on a 75-minute magic performance that makes guests question the known.

Monte Vista 3rd Friday Art Walk

• Date: Friday, May 19, June 16, July 21, and August 18, 2023
• Address: Monte Vista
• About: Those who love art and music should head to downtown Monte Vista this summer for the 3rd Friday Art Walk. Taking place in different forms year-round, during the warmer months a portion of Adams St. will be blocked off for artists, musicians, and vendors.

Highlands Farmers Market

• Date: Sundays, May 21 – October 15, 2023
• Address: Highland Square, 32nd Avenue, Denver
• About: Great farmer’s market with handcrafted goods and locally grown produce. Go hungry because there is plenty of homemade food for sale, fresh and ready to eat.

Civic Center EATS

• Date: Thursdays, May – September 2023
• Address: Denver
• About: Civic Center EATS is a one-stop shop for some of the best food on wheels you can find in the Mile High City. Located in Denver’s Civic Center Park, there will be about 10 to 15 food trucks selling a myriad of delicious meals.

Mike the Headless Chicken Festival

• Date: Fri-Sat, June 2-3, 2023
• Address: Fruita
• About: Two days of honoring the late headless chicken named Mike. Events include a 5k race, poultry show, disc golf tourney, and car show.

Greeley Blues Jam

• Date: Fri-Sat, June 2-3, 2023
• Address: Greeley
• About: Blues music festival with a variety of events for the whole family. Camping is available at the festival location in Island Grove Park.

Animas River Days

• Date: Fri-Sun, June 2-4 2023
• Address: Santa Rita Park, Durango
• About: 3-day celebration on the Animas River thru the whitewater park. Festivities include kayak, raft, and SUP races, all capped off by a wild river parade with a viewing party from the park.

Telluride Balloon Festival

• Date: Fri-Sun, June 2-4, 2023
• Address: Telluride
• About: 40th year, festivities include two sunrise balloon ascensions from Town Park, a sunset glow on Main Street, and a balloon workshop.

Colorado College Summer Music Festival

• Date: Sun-Fri, June 4-23, 2023
• Address: Colorado Springs
• About: An annual 3-week classical orchestral and chamber music festival showcasing classically trained musicians from around the globe as well as Colorado College students and faculty members.

GoPro Mountain Games

• Date: Thur-Sun, June 8-11, 2023
• Address: Vail
• About: Summer GoPro Mountain Games are the biggest festival of adventure sports, art, and music, held annually in Vail. There are competitions in biking, climbing, fishing, kayaking, slacklining, standup paddling, rafting, running, disc golf, and even events for dogs.

Colorado Medieval Festival

• Date: Fri-Sun, June 9-11, 2023
• Address: Loveland
• About: It’s an outdoor medieval-themed festival with live entertainment including knights, swordsmanship, and music. There’ll be plenty of food, beer, craft vendors, and a kid zone. No pets are allowed.

Aspen Fringe Festival

• Date: Fri-Sun, June 9-11, 2023
• Address: Aspen
• About: A 2-day performance art festival highlighting the work of a featured playwright.

Pagosa Folk ‘N Bluegrass

• Date: Fri-Sun, June 9-11, 2023
• Address: Pagosa Springs
• About: 16th annual music festival showcasing bluegrass and folk tunes.

Palisade Bluegrass & Roots Festival

• Date: Fri-Sun, June 9-11, 2023
• Address: Palisade
• About: Annual bluegrass fest in Riverbend Park, featuring guitars, fiddles, and amazing artistry.

Meekerpalooza

• Date: Fridays, June 9 & 23 and July 14 & 21, 2023
• Address: Meeker
• About: Held in June and July, the annual Meekerpalooza celebrates art, music, and culture while hosting a large farmer’s market downtown.

Colorado Shakespeare Festival

• Date: Mixed days, June 11 – August 13, 2023
• Where: Boulder
• About: With over 60 successful seasons under its belt, the Colorado Shakespeare Festival showcases multiple performances of some of Shakespeare’s best plays. It’s held on varying days on the CU campus.

FIBArk Salida

• Date: Thur-Sun, June 15-18, 2023
• Address: Downtown Salida
• About: America’s oldest whitewater festival, dating back to 1949. There are a number of exciting events including the Slalom Race, Crazy River Dog, and the Hooligan Race. Camping is available in the town of Salida and nearby on Highway 50.

Sonic Bloom

• Date: Thur-Sun, June 15-18, 2023
• Address: Rye
• About: 16th annual electronic music festival held during the summer solstice. The festival grounds are located by Rye in Spanish Peaks Country at Hummingbird Park.

Telluride Bluegrass Festival

• Date: Thur-Sun, June 15-18, 2023
• Address: Telluride
• About: 50th annual bluegrass music festival in downtown Telluride.

Food & Wine Classic in Aspen

• Date: Fri-Sun, June 16-18, 2023
• Address: Aspen
• About: Learn from world-renowned chefs give cooking presentations and lectures, and enjoy top-notch cooking and wine, as well as beer, wine, and cocktails.

Strawberry Days

• Date: Fri-Sun, June 16-18, 2023
• Address: Glenwood Springs
• About: 126th annual festival is held the third weekend in June every year. It features live music, stage entertainment, a FamilyFest for kids, arts & crafts, a food court, a carnival, and a parade down Grand Avenue. Of course, there are free strawberries and ice cream after the parade.

Juneteenth Music Festival

• Date: Fri-Mon, June 16-19, 2023
• Address: Denver
• About: Denver’s Juneteenth Music Festival is one of the country’s largest celebrations. Attracting 50,000 attendees, the festival boasts live music, vendors, food stalls, art murals, activities for kids, and a parade.

Yampa River Roots Rock Reggae Festival 

• Date: Saturday, June 17, 2023
• Address: Craig
• About: Taking place at Loudy Simpson Park and benefitting the town of Craig, the Yampa River Roots Rocks Reggae Festival is a one-day event with fun activities like live music, a 5K fun run, yoga in the park, craft, food vendors, and a river clean-up.

Colorado Renaissance Festival

• Date: Saturday & Sunday, June 17 – August 6, 2023
• Address: 650 W Perry Park Ave, Larkspur (between Denver & CO Springs on I-25)
• About: The Renaissance Festival is held over 8 weekends in June, July, and August with medieval events for all ages. It’s held from 10 am until 6:30 pm each day, rain or shine. Parking is free and no pets are allowed.

Country Jam

• Date: Thur-Sat, June 22-24, 2023
• Address: Grand Junction
• About: Three-day country music party on the Western Slope, with camping available.

Telluride Yoga Festival

• Date: Thur-Sun, June 22-25, 2023
• Address: Telluride
• About: The Telluride Yoga Festival is a four-day event where guests can learn from yoga masters, meditate, hike, raft, take aerial classes, climb, and participate in social events all with a beautiful alpine backdrop.

Greeley Stampede

• Date: Wed-Tues, June 22 – July 4, 2023
• Address: Greeley
• About: 102nd annual Stampede features a PRCA rodeo, live country music, monster trucks, a demolition derby, carnival, roller derby, fireworks, and one of the largest Independence Day parades in the nation.

Bravo! Vail Music Festival

• Date: Thur-Thur, June 22 – August 3, 2023
• Address: Vail
• About: Orchestras from around the world perform in the vibrant Vail Valley during the peak of the summer season.

Scandinavian Midsummer Festival

• Date: Fri-Sun, June 23-25, 2023
• Address: Bond Park, Downtown Estes Park
• About: Come celebrate the longest day of summer, the Summer Solstice, with Scandinavian song, dance, and music. There’ll be local food and crafts, a Viking encampment, a silent auction, and a raffle for a trip to Scandinavia.

Denver Pride 5k

• Date: Saturday, June 24, 2023
• Address: Denver
• About: Taking place during Denver Pride, the 5k race’s proceeds are donated to The Center on Colfax, the largest health and wellness center that offers services to LGBTQ people of all ages in the Rocky Mountains.

Reds, Whites & Brews Festival in the Boat

• Date: Saturday, June 24, 2023
• Address: Steamboat Springs
• About: Premier fine wine and craft beer event with live music, retail vendors, and local food.

Keystone Bacon & Bourbon Festival

• Date: Sat-Sun, June 24-25, 2023
• Address: River Run Village, Keystone
• About: Everything bacon at this annual festival, featuring bacon-infused cuisine from around twenty food vendors, a Bacon Bloody Mary Bar, and live music.

Vail Lacrosse Shootout

• Date: Sat-Tues, June 24 – July 4, 2023
• Address: Vail, Avon, Edwards
• About: The Vail Lacrosse Shootout is an 11-day annual sports event for players ages 17 – 70. With nine divisions for players and teams, the shootout will take place at multiple fields in Avon, Edwards, and Vail.

Pikes Peak International Hill Climb

• Date: Sunday, June 25, 2023
• Address: Pikes Peak Highway, Cascade
• About: Founded in 1916 by Spencer Penrose, the Pikes Peak Hill Climb is the second oldest auto race in America. Now in its 101st year, cars and motorcycles race up Pike Peak Highway in what’s known as the “Race to the Clouds”.

Battlemoor

• Date: Tues-Sun, June 27 – July 2, 2023
• Address: Sporleder Centennial Ranch, Aguilar
• About: Since 2009, Battlemoor has recreated historic battles and medieval times around Colorado during this week-long festival.

Telluride Plein Air Festival

• Date: Wed-Tues, June 28 – July 4, 2023
• Address: Telluride
• About: A week-long open-air art event in Telluride where artists paint outdoors and, once the week is over, sell their pieces.

Colorado Music Festival

• Date: Thur-Sun, June 29 – August 6, 2023
• Address: Boulder
• About: Six weeks of symphonies, orchestras, and other classical music. It’s held at the historic Chautauqua Auditorium, now in its 45th year.

Aspen Music Festival

• Date: Thur-Sun, June 29 – August 20, 2023
• Address: Aspen
• About: The Aspen Music Festival summer season is packed full of concerts, classes, performances, and a myriad of programs that attract over 100,000 music lovers annually.

Film on the Rocks

• Date: June – August TBD 2023
• Address: Red Rocks Amphitheater, Morrison
• About: Annual summer movie series held at Red Rocks Amphitheater showcasing a range of films. A great event for families, these showings take place on multiple days throughout the summer.

Yoga on the Rocks

• Date: TBD Saturdays, June – August 2023
• Where: Morrison
• About: Every Saturday morning, yogis of all levels can begin their day by flowing in the serene and beautiful outdoor setting of the iconic Red Rock Amphitheatre.

Steamboat Springs Pro Rodeo Series

• Date: Fri & Sat, June – August 2023
• Address: Howelsen Hill Rodeo Grounds, Steamboat Springs
• About: Every summer on Friday and Saturday evenings, PBR rodeo cowboys compete in the Yampa Valley.

Hudson Gardens Summer Concert Series

• Date: Early June – mid-September TBD 2023
• Where: Littleton
• About: Twenty-one years and counting for this favorite summer outdoor concert series. Shows take place regularly on Sundays, some Saturdays, and July 4th.

Kids Adventure Games

• Date: TBD 2023
• Address: Highline Lake State Park, Fruita
• About: The only multi-city adventure race for children ages 6-14 that is tailored to the natural landscape of the host city.

Unknown Motorcycle Show

• Date: TBD 2023
• Address: Cerise Park, Montrose
• About: Annual vintage and custom motorcycle show held in western Colorado. Swing by on Saturday for rare, restored motorcycles, competitions, live music, and vendors.

Telluride Wine Festival

• Date: TBD 2023
• Address: Telluride
• About: After a canceled 2022 event, hopefully, this annual four-day festival with many wine tastings, lunches, lectures, and vineyard tours will continue on in 2023.

Hops Drops

• Date: TBD 2023
• Address: Evergreen
• About: A family-friendly music and beer event with live performances, food vendors, kids’ activities, and plenty of craft beer from some of Colorado’s most-notable breweries.

Stills In The Hills

• Date: TBD 2023
• Address: Central City
• About: Main Street in historic Central City hosts the 9th Stills In The Hills. It’s free to attend with live music and local food, but unlimited tastings come with a fee. Pets are not welcome.

Colorado Tiny House Festival

• Date: TBD 2023
• Address: Brighton
• About: Annual festival showcasing smaller living spaces including skoolies, container homes, tiny homes on wheels, van conversions, teardrops, and yurts.

Telluride Chamber Music Festival

• Date: TBD 2023
• Address: Telluride
• About: Local music directors set out to curate an intriguing and cultural festival that promotes the joy of chamber music melodies and spontaneous connection between locals and tourists alike.
